Board of
Directors
The Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the Imperial Valley Healthcare District, overseeing all aspects of District operations. While the Board holds ultimate responsibility, it delegates authority to officers and staff to ensure efficient management. The Board is composed of seven members, each a registered voter and resident of the District.

The initial Board of Directors was appointed from various entities.
Membership include:
- One member from and appointed by the Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District Board of Directors.
- One member from and appointed by the Heffernan Memorial Healthcare District Board.
- One member from the City of El Centro and appointed by the Imperial County Public Health Director.
- One member of the public appointed by the Imperial County Board of Supervisors. This member shall be a resident of the unincorporated areas (Seely or Ocotillo) or an Imperial County Board of Supervisors that represents that area.
- One tribal member from and appointed by the Quechan Tribe.
- One member from the City of Imperial and appointed by the City of Imperial.
- One member from the City of Holtville and appointed by the City of Holtville.
The legislation that created IVHD requires that the board of directors shall consist of all elected members by the conclusion of the 2028 general election.
These members will represent seven Districts adopted by the Board in May 2024 after a series of public meetings and community input.
